Ms. Jun Yan
Ms Jun Yan holds a BA in Education of Chinese Language and Literature and an MA in Chinese Contemporary Literature from Fujian Normal University, China. She also completed a Professional Diploma in Education (first class) from the National University of Ireland, Galway and a Professional Diploma in Creativity & Innovation for Education from University College Dublin. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the University of Bath, UK. Her research interests include intercultural communication, language, language teacher identity, applied linguistics, and Chinese language acquisition in the context of multilingualism. She is also a registered teacher with the Teaching Council in Ireland and is an oral examiner for the Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate exam.
Ms Yan joined the UCD Confucius Institute and has managed the Galway Education Centre Confucius Classroom since 2016. She was also the Mandarin Chinese instructor and cultural workshop facilitator at Google Ireland, UK and in Galway Chamber of Commerce. Jun currently organises and teaches various courses, including teachers’ training programmes, adult evening classes, primary and secondary school Chinese language and culture classes, and business Chinese. Ms Yan has been a committee member of the IACT since 2020.
